On 06/07/18, Doula and patient, Erin Shell (left) with the loving support of her Doula Christina Pruitt, at 41 5/7 weeks EGA, had a VBAC Water 💦 Birth, of her largest baby, weighing 9’3″; all went well and was as wonderful as anything could be because “fear” was eliminated from her (& her family’s) journey by the science based evidence, support from her Doula, and the SBM Midwives, Lynn, Ellen, and Kay (who actually attended the birth, Kay’s 10th VBAC in the past 2 months😉).
Fear is eliminated by the voice of reason, a mindful team, and the supportive Nursing staff at Atlanta Medical Center (AMC); btw AMC is the only hospital in GA (or perhaps the U.S.), that safely supports VBAC water 💦 birth by following ACOG guidelines with continuous telemetry monitoring in water). AMC remains at the forefront in providing safe, supportive and “informed” care (with respectful consent), which is why SBM provides support and “shared decision making” to our Moms and families there.
This Dynamic Doula Duo is but another example of this, an empowering healthy process of which they wanted to share.
Thank you, Erin & Christina for permitting us to share your story; a fun fact🌍💜🌍.
